Dean-Charles Chapman

After a few roles in television, Dean-Charles Chapman was cast as Small Boy in Billy Elliot when he was eight years old, in the original cast of the show. He began training when he was ten years old and went on to play Michael and then Billy in the production. He was the longest-serving Billy and the second-longest-serving cast member. Credits include BBC Three’s comedy series Cuckoo, playing the title role in The Revolting World of Stanley Brown for CBBC, and The White Queen for the BBC and Starz. Chapman has most recently been seen in Rowan Joffe’s Before I Go to Sleep, with Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth, and Mark Strong; E4’s critically acclaimed series Glue; Ripper Street for BBC One; the feature film Man Up with Simon Pegg and Lake Bell; and season six of Game of Thrones on Sky Atlantic. Chapman can next be seen in Andy Serkis’ Breathe with Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, which opened the 61st London Film Festival, and Jaume Collet-Serra’s The Commuter with Liam Neeson.
