Nick Frost

British comedian, actor, director, and producer Nick Frost will soon be seen in Fighting with My Family, co-starring Dwayne Johnson, Lena Headey, and Vince Vaughn. Directed and written by Stephen Merchant and set to premiere later this year, the plot centers on a former wrestler whose children dream of one day joining World Wrestling Entertainment. In 2018 Frost will also executive produce Slaughterhouse Rulez, a Stolen Picture production that sees an illustrious British boarding school become a bloody battleground when a mysterious sinkhole appears at a nearby fracking site, unleashing unspeakable horror. Frost will next appear on the big screen in Tomb Raider, starring Alicia Vikander and Dominic West. Also in production is a live-action film version of the beloved Pugwash stories that will see Frost take the helm of the Black Pig as Captain Pugwash. Frost has most recently been seen in Sky Atlantic’s TV series Sick Note, alongside Rupert Grint and Don Johnson. The comedy series centers on Daniel Glass (Grint), who becomes increasingly desperate as a lie starts to spiral out of control. A second season of Sick Note will air later this year. Frost is best known for the 2004 cult zombie movie Shaun of the Dead, opposite Simon Pegg, which earned Frost a nomination for Most Promising Newcomer from the British Independent Film Awards. Frost and Pegg also teamed up for the hugely successful hit comedy Hot Fuzz (2007) and rounded off their The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy in 2013 with The World’s End. They joined forces again in 2011 for sci-fi comedy Paul, which debuted at the top of the UK box office. Following Paul, Frost appeared as Ron in Joe Cornish’s award-winning Attack the Block. In 2014 Frost served as an executive producer on Cuban Fury, based on his original idea about a shabby, down-on-his-luck man who reignites his long-dormant passion for salsa dancing. Frost first came to prominence as the gun-mad character Mike Watt in the award-winning Channel 4 sitcom Spaced (1999). His further television credits include the BBC’s adaptation of Martin Amis’ best-seller Money (2010), Channel 4 sitcom Black Books (2000), with Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey, and the Channel 5 series Danger! 50,000 Volts! (2002), which he hosted. In 2006, Frost led the cast of Hyperdrive, a sci-fi comedy series for BBC Two, as well as starring in two seasons of the BBC sketch-comedy series Man Stroke Woman (2005). In Spring 2014, Frost starred in Sky Atlantic HD’s six-episode comedy series Mr Sloane; later that year, in December, he guest-starred as Badass Santa in the BBC’s Doctor Who Christmas Special, Last Christmas, which drew 6.4 million viewers. His further film credits are extensive and include Julian Jarrold’s Kinky Boots (2005), Nick Moore’s Wild Child (2008), quirky fantasy romance Penelope (2006), and Richard Curtis’s The Boat That Rocked (2009), as well as blockbusters Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and the sequel The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016). Frost has lent his voice talents to Peter Jackson’s epic motion-capture feature The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (2011), the fourth instalment of the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012), BAFTA-nominated The Boxtrolls, and, most recently, Monster Family in 2017.
