Which Kevin Smith Movie Made the Most at the Box Office? You Might Be Surprised

Director Kevin Smith, Executive Producer of AMC's upcoming series Comic Book Men, is beloved for cult comedies like Clerks and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. But Smith is hardly a one-trick pony. In fact, his three highest-grossing movies have been a cop pic, a love story, and a masterly meditation on religion. Check out the five Smith flicks that have made the most at the box office, then rank all his movies yourself! 1. Cop Out ($44.5 million) Cop Out, the hit comedy starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan as renegade cops, is the first Smith movie which credits Smith as director but not as writer. Even so, the hilariously outrageous situations, memorable jokes, and bantering buddies make it a quintessential Smith pic. 2. Zack and Miri Make a Porno ($31.5 million) Sex sells both on-screen and off with Smith's tale of platonic roommates Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elizabeth Banks) who decide to make a skin flick to pay the rent. When the two friends discover their true love for each other, romance sells as well. 3. Dogma ($30.5 million) Smith takes on the subject of religion with a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris Rock and Linda Fiorentino. As a pair of angels gone AWOL, Damon and Affleck are two off-screen best friends at their on-screen best. 4. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back  ($30 million) The View Askewniverse -- Smith's alt world that began with Clerks -- is turned upside down when Jay and Silent Bob set out to teach Hollywood a lesson. The result is a joyride full of references to early Smith flicks, celebrity cameos, and a comically blurred line between fact and fiction. 5. Jersey Girl ($25 million) Smith's longtime muse Affleck stars as a widower struggling with new-found parenthood and the loss of his wife (Jennifer Lopez). Then, along comes quirky Liv Tyler to ease his pain and transform a story of grief into a winning love story. Don't see your favorite Smith flick above? Want to see how his others rank in popularity?
