Dan Simmons is a New York Times bestselling author of over twenty novels. He is one of the few novelists whose work spans the genres of fantasy, science fiction, horror, suspense, historical fiction, noir crime fiction, and mainstream literary fiction. Simmons’ work is published in over twenty-five countries and has sold millions of copies worldwide. He has won numerous awards, including the most prestigious science fiction awards: the Hugo, the Nebula and the British Science Fiction Award. He is also a winner of the World Fantasy Award and a four-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award given for superior achievement in horror writing. Simmons has numerous film and television projects in development, including his Hyperion Quartet of novels at Syfy, Summer of Night at Sony Pictures and Darwin’s Blade at NBC. Dan worked in elementary education for eighteen years before becoming a full-time writer in 1987. He lives along the Font Range of Colorado with his wife Karen.
