It's not easy being a woman IRL or on Dietland.

"Everything has potential for humiliation and mockery," says Joy Nash of her character, Plum Kettle, in a new video introducing the show's defiant women.

"Plum Kettle is such a great character. Her eyes are our window into this world," says Executive Producer Marti Noxon.

While Plum hides from the world, anyone can see she has a secret rebel heart.

Plum's employer Kitty, editor of Daisy Chain magazine, is a different story.

"She's over the top all the time," says Julianna Margulies, who plays Kitty.

The beautiful magazine big shot "has no filter," adds Noxon.
