AMC to Air First Season of Shudder's Hit Horror Anthology Series Creepshow

AMC announced today that it will air the popular horror anthology series Creepshow, currently available on Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror fans. Episodes will air Mondays at 10/9c from May 4 through June 8. The series is executive-produced by Showrunner Greg Nicotero, Executive Producer, Director and Special FX Make-Up Designer of The Walking Dead.

Creepshow is based on the iconic 1982 movie written by Stephen King and directed by George A. Romero and features twelve chilling tales told over six, hour-long episodes.

Additionally, AMC released a new trailer for the series, giving fans a taste of the nightmarish stories fans can expect when the series comes to AMC. The trailer gives a glimpse of the twelve terrifying tales from horror's greatest minds as well as the star-studded cast.

Creepshow's all-star cast includes David Arquette (Scream franchise), Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog), Tobin Bell (Saw), Big Boi (Scream: The TV Series), Jeffrey Combs (Star Trek, Re-Animator), Kid Cudi (Drunk Parents), Bruce Davison (X-Men), Giancarlo Esposito (Gus from Better Call Saul), Dana Gould (Stan Against Evil), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) and DJ Qualls (Supernatural), and features adaptations of stories by Stephen King, Joe Hill (Executive Producer of NOS4A2), Joe R. Lansdale, Josh Malerman and others. Nicotero’s Oscar®, BAFTA® and Emmy® Award-winning make-up effects studio KNB EFX GROUP serves as creature creators.

The first episode, directed by Greg Nicotero, airing May 4 at 9/8c, is titled Gray Matter and tells the story of Doc and Chief, two old-timers in a small, dying town, brave a storm to check on Richie, an alcoholic single father, after encountering his terrified son at the local convenience store. The story, by Stephen King, was first published in 1973, is part of King’s best-selling 1978 collection, Night Shift.
