Variety Spotlights First-Look Season 4 Photos; LA Times on Preacher & God
This week, Variety spotlights the first photos from Season 4, while the Los Angeles Times muses on Preacher's relationship with God. Plus, The New York Times has high praise for the show. Read on for more:
• Variety spotlights the first photos from Season 4, where Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy are "facing heavenly prophecies, hellish prisons, and all-out nuclear war."
• Bloody Disgusting notes that Cassidy is in "an absolute bloodbath" in one of the new photos.
• The Los Angeles Times cites Preacher as a TV show where God is "a central figure," with Sam Catlin saying, "What I think we've enjoyed working on with Preacher is that we get to ask these super-serious questions in a way that isn't at all serious. We don't assume we've provided any new or profound answers but the questions have been fun to ask."
• The New York Times applauds Preacher as "one of the most purely enjoyable shows on TV."
• Den of Geek includes Preacher in its summer TV preview, saying that "it's pretty amazing it's lasted this long. Not because the show isn't quality because it (usually) is but rather the subject matter is just wild for anything outside of the pay cable or streaming TV worlds."
• Preacher also makes it onto Entertainment Weekly's summer TV edition of its What to Watch column, noting that Season 4 premieres on Aug. 4 at 9 P.M. (no link)
• Den of Geek compiles all the information that's known so far about Season 4 — the "release date, cast, news, and more" — and notes that AMC is "moving production to Australia for the end of Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy's story."
