Set among a super-rich community living on the French Riviera, it follows American art curator Georgina Clios (Julia Stiles) as she tries to find out who's responsible for the murder of her husband, influential banker Constantine (Anthony LaPaglia), in a tragic yacht explosion. It's equal parts glitz and glamour, scheming and intrigue from start to finish, and you can stream all three seasons on AMC+.
Fancy a twisty trip to the Emerald Isle? This dark comedy series stars — and is written by — real-life best friends Sarah Goldberg (Barry) and Susan Stanley (Fair City). They play Sare and Suze, two complete strangers from opposite sides of the Atlantic who discover that they are in fact half-sisters. Over six episodes, we follow them on a poignant and surprising road trip across Ireland as they try to track down their alcoholic father. You'll laugh a lot, but you'll also need a box of tissues. This dark comedy film is set and filmed in Pisa, home of the iconic leaning tower. Alison Brie (who also co-wrote the screenplay) stars as Amber, the manager of a suburban chain restaurant who wins an all-expenses paid trip to the company's immersive education facility in Italy. What happens next isn't exactly relaxing — there's a quirky mystery element to proceedings, as well as a love story. Happy Valley's James Norton leads this true-crime movie set in and around Dover, southern England, home to the famous "white cliffs" as well as a historic castle and lighthouse. He plays Robert Hendy-Freegard, an infamous conman who posed as an MI5 agent while actually working as a bartender and car salesperson. This acclaimed French film is set in Les Olympiades, a Parisian neighborhood known for its futuristic tower blocks built in the 1970s. Directed by Jacques Audiard (Rust and Bone, A Prophet), it follows a group of young people with relatably chaotic and consistently surprising love lives. The cast includes rising star Lucie Zhang and Jehnny Beth of awesome punk band Savages, so it's a showcase for some serious talent as well as one of the world's greatest cities. This long-running medical series is set in Portwenn, a fictional fishing village in Cornwall, Southern England. It's filmed in Port Isaac, a real-life Cornish fishing village that's very pretty indeed — think quaint pubs, cute harbors, and fish and chips on the beach. British TV favorite Martin Clunes stars as the title character, a brilliant former surgeon who reluctantly accepts a job as a local doctor despite having somewhat limited social skills. This Acorn TV original series is set in Whitstable, an English coastal town known for its oysters and old-timey cottages. Kerry Godliman (After Life) stars as Pearl Nolan, a woman who runs a seafood restaurant called Whitstable Pearl with her domineering mother Dolly (Frances Barber). However, when a friend dies in mysterious circumstances, she returns to her earlier career as a detective alongside local cop DCI Mike McGuire (Howard Charles). It's a cozy crime drama in a picturesque setting that you can check out on Acorn TV.
