The vampires, witches and daemons in A Discovery of Witches aren't just different in their powers and abilities — they also set themselves apart with their wardrobe.

In this behind the scenes video, costume designer Sarah Arthur and the cast discuss the nuances behind the design of each characters' signature look.

"It's quite an expensive wardrobe between us," says Aiysha Hart, who plays the vampire, Miriam. "It gives the impression of power. And they are powerful," adds Trystan Gravelle, who plays Baldwin de Claremont.

"She's tried to weave things in in a very subtle way, costumes that have a color or a texture that suggests something almost vintage," explains Lindsay Duncan of Arthur.
