Darryl McDaniels on How Run-DMC "Took Positivity and Made It Gangster"

In this unaired interview, Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC talks about how the legendary hip hop group approached cursing in their rhymes.

"We only cursed when it was necessary to curse, when we were trying to put an exclamation point on what we was trying to present," he says. "It's not impressive if a guy's gonna curse the whole damn record. Like, that's boring. That's monotonous. You're doper if you don't need to curse."
